Bloomington – David L. Anderson, 74, of Bloomington, passed away at 12:15 AM on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Bloomington Rehabilitation Center. He was born on February 20, 1939 in Bloomington to Oscar “Okie” and Annabelle Gaines Anderson. He married Valerie Fiene on October 1, 1961. She preceded him in death in 2009. Also preceding him were his parents; one brother Walter Anderson and one sister Helen Marie Pearce.
David is survived by five daughters Lori Farley of Bloomington, Robin (Bob) Duffy of Secor, Rebecca (Mark) Peterson of Normal, Krista (Brian) Tiemeier of Towanda, and Lyssa (Guy) Mattson of El Paso, IL; two sons Michael and Scott Anderson both of Bloomington; 9 Grandchildren Jessica, Erica, Adam, Brandon, Tara, Isaiah, Tanner, Hannah and Ashley; two Great Grandchildren Anderson and Simeon; and one brother Henry Anderson of Normal.
He had been a clerk for the Eureka Company, retiring in 1997 after 40 years of service. He enjoyed music, coin collecting, Bingo and playing the Lottery. David was always there for his children.
His family wants to express their thanks to David’s friends and the staff at Bloomington Rehabilitation Center for the care they extended to him during his stay.
Cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington. Friends may call upon the family from 2:00 to 3:00 PM prior to the services at the funeral home.
