Bill served his country in the Army during the Korean War and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Bill married Frances Virginia Howard on June 11, 1955 in Elko, Nevada. He was a machinist by trade and was considered by many who knew him as "Bill Fix It." He could fix or make pretty much anything and was a very kind and caring man who would do anything for anyone. Bill loved working in his machine shop. He enjoyed gardening and his greenhouse, and was able to provide many flowers and tomato plants as well as tomatoes for all who wanted them. He loved his pets, watching boxing on T.V. and the view from his backyard of the Wasatch Mountains and the city.
He is survived by his beloved wife Frances, children; William, David (Jan), Jerry (Trixi), Christi (Brent), siblings, Terry (Barbara), Virginia, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his daughter; Michelle, parents, siblings, John, Calvin, and Richard.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, June 17, 2013 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 AM at the mortuary. Interment: Holladay-Memorial Park, 4900 South Memory Lane (1990 East), Holladay, Utah.
