LYDIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Barbara Boudreaux LeBlanc, age 78, at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Fr. Ed Degeyter will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3:00 pm until 10:00pm with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm. Visiting will resume on Wednesday from 8:00 am until 9:30 am.
Mrs. LeBlanc passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 10:10 pm at Dauterive Hospital.
Barbara, known by many as “Miss Bob”, was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, embroidering, and relaxing on her porch with a cup of cappuccino watching the purple martins and hummingbirds. She leaves behind many fond memories that will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her five children, Danny LeBlanc, Martha “Marty” LeBlanc, Eugenie “Pic” LeBlanc, Orien LeBlanc and wife Suzie, and Jennifer Johnson and husband Jeremy all of New Iberia; eight grandchildren, Jeremy “To-To” Seaux, Brandon and Coty Landry, Kristin “Chick” Bellomy, Wyatt LeBlanc, Noah LeBlanc, Evan Johnson, Robin Bonin Robicheaux, and Jeannine Vincent Hormell; 10 great grandchildren; and her sister and brothers, Jeannie McDonald of Broussard, Peter Benson, Jr. and wife Beverly and Johnny Schexnayder and wife Joyce both of New Iberia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy “PJ” LeBlanc; her son, Tommy LeBlanc; grandson, Emile Nick LeBlanc; great grandson, Cason N. Seaux; son-in-law, Steven P. Bellomy; and her parents, Henry and Esther Kennedy Boudreaux.
Serving as pallbearers will be Orien and Wyatt LeBlanc, Brandon and Coty Landry, Jeremy Seaux, Lance Provost, Seth Pellerin, and Jeremy Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Chick Bellomy, Paul O’Brien, Gail Matthews, Effie Silas, Debbie Ryan, and Jade Ronsonet.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to June Provost Jones, Dauterive Hospital ICU and 2nd Floor Staff, Marie Delcambre, Kerrill (Sista) James, AAA Hospice, Marsha Sonnier, and especially to her daughter Jennifer and her family, Jeremy and Chick, for the care and compassion given to Barbara. We will always be grateful.
