Audrey Lee Garcia went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 28, 2013 under Hospice care at Westminister Towers. She had suffered from Alzheimer's. She was born December 2, 1931 in Jackson County, Florida to Edward Clyde and Edna Ivey Conrad, who preceded her in death. Audrey was also preceded in death by her siblings Edward, Earl, Jack, Noramae, and Jeanette, her son, Ray, Jr. and most recently her husband, Ray.
Audrey is survived by her children James Roberts (Sharon), Shirley Rainwaters (Jerry), Lucila Whisenant (Bob), Bob Garcia (Tena), John Garcia (Tammy), Esther Bellamy (Wayne), Mary Moulton (Rodney) and Annette Durrance (Tim) her brother Ted Conrad of Jacksonville, Florida and Sister-In-Law Rose Conrad of Tallahassee, Florida, who was more like a sister to her. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren: Michelle, Melissa, Daniel, Trey, Ryan, Bryan, Robert, Anthony, Jessica, Kyle, Bradly, Nathan, Jonathan, Kristina, Lauren, Joshua, Caleb, Justin, Jacob, Emily, Rhonda, Clint and Denice, and by 25 Great-grandchildren: Brandon, Darren, Bailey, Aundrea, Samuel, Logan, Savannah, Cale, Rylen, Reyna, Bryson, Quincy, Kloey, Caleb, Calyla, Aubrie, Haley, Leo, McCoy, Jacob, Farrah, Ashley, Jessica, Mallory and Jarod.
She owned Ellenton Fruit Company with her husband, and was the bookkeeper. Audrey was a great cook. She loved to garden and especially loved her flowers. She loved to sing along to country music and gospel hymns from her childhood. She will always be remembered for her beautiful white hair!
The family will receive friends starting at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2013, with funeral services commencing at 2:00 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Allen James from West Bradenton Baptist. Services will be at Groover Funeral Home at Mansion Memorial Park in Ellenton, Florida. Graveside services will follow at Mansion Memorial Park. If you prefer, memorials can be made to Tidewell Hospice of Southwest Florida.
