Russell E. Glenn, of Grand Prairie, went home to be with the Lord on June 29, 2013. He was born on Feb. 7, 1932 in Mansfield, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents Curtis and Naomi Glenn, brother Richard Glenn, son Patrick and daughter Linda. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patty, sister Mary, daughter Cindy, son Rusty and wife Connie, son Chris and wife Diana. Grandchildren Griffin, Jackson, Luke, Chloe, Lily, Trevor, K.D. and Henry. Russ was born and raised in Mansfield, Ohio and later attended Defiance College where he played football and earned multiple honors including a place in their sports hall of fame. Russ then served five years in the Air Force as a fighter pilot before returning to Ohio State University for his degree in Civil Engineering. Russ flew in the Ohio National Guard while attending OSU. After deployment to France in the Guard, Russ began a 27 year career with American Airlines. Russ was known for his kindness, generosity, and service to anyone in need. He enjoyed family, flying and golf. Russ loved and served the First United Methodist Church in Grand Prairie. The city honored him by naming the Russ Glenn Community Garden after him. Visitation at 6 pm to 8 pm, Tuesday at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home in Grand Prairie. Service is at the First United Methodist Church in Grand Prairie at 2 pm, Wednesday. Interment at the DFW National Cemetery on Friday at 9:15 am.
