He was born on May 27th, 1957 in Brattleboro, VT, the son of Leon and Audrey (Nichols) Gibbs. He grew up in the area and was a 1975 graduate of Keene High School.
Mitch married Bonnie LaCount on July 17, 1982. They were high school sweethearts. She was the love of his life even after her passing in August 2006.
For the last 35 years, Mitch worked at Timken Super Precision until his retirement in March 2012.
He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and hunting. You could often find him watching his favorite TV shows including MASH and Walker.
Mitch was a member of the Elks Lodge #927 in Keene for many years.
He and his family enjoyed years of vacationing in York, ME.
Mitch will be forever remembered for his kind heart and quick wit as well as his wealth of knowledge.
He will be deeply missed by his sons, Joshua Gibbs, and partner Amanda Baetzel, of Winchester and Brandon Gibbs of Chesterfield; his brothers Curtis Gibbs, Kevin Gibbs, and wife Mabel, all of VT. His only grandson Jared Gibbs will miss his ”Bebop”, who was very special to him.
Also surviving him are his in-laws: Edward and Sandra LaCount Sr., Sharon and Morgan McKane and Edward LaCount Jr. He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Jason LaCount, Jessica LaCount Spencer, Tiffany LaCount, Cindy Gibbs, Ashley Gibbs and their families.
Mitch also considered many of his friends and his son’s friends, as family. He will be missed by all.
A Celebration of Mitch’s Life will be held at later date. Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro St., Keene, NH have been entrusted with the arrangements.
