Edward William Finnegan 83, of Phoenix passed away July 9, 2013 at home with his family. He was born March 30,1930 in Granite City,IL. He graduated from Hancock High in Lemay, MO. He went to St. Vincent's Seminary in Cape Girardeau, MO for 3 1/2 years. He entered the Air Force in 1948 and proudly served our country for 25 1/2 years until he retired in 1973. He worked at Montgomery Ward from 1973 to 1982. He worked at American Express until 1993 when he retired. He loved history, aircrafts, golf, bowling, and Pinochle. He was an amazing husband, dad, grandpa, and great grandpa. He was funny,smart,kind,caring, and always loving. We were truly blessed to have him as long as we did. Now our Heavenly Father has taken him home to his kingdom to be reunited with his parents and brothers. He will be missed by all. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Barbara Finnegan, his sister, Sister Vincent Marie, his 3 children Michael, Cindy, Kathy, 5 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Services will be held Wednesday, July 17 at 11:00 AM at St. Joan of Arc 3801 E Greenway Rd, Phoenix. Services with military honors will follow at National Memorial Cemetery 23029 N Cave Creek Rd at 1230 PM. In lieu of flowers please donate to Evercare Hospice 602-749-5900.
