He was born August 21, 1928, in Alpine, New Jersey, a son of Eugene P. and Constance M. Blake. Bill was a hardworking and caring family man. He worked for many years in the warehouse at Akron Storage and also as a truck driver. Bill proudly served his country in the US Army, and was affectionately known as “Buck” by his family.
William is survived by his children: William P. Blake Jr. of Northeast, MD, Richard T. (Marcine) Blake of League City, TX, Kenneth L. (Bonnie) Blake of Bermuda Dunes, CA, and David A. (Dina) Blake of Shalersville. Also survived by his grandchildren: Jaclyn, Jaime, Clifford, Richard, Kaitlyn, Jenna, Matthew, Christopher, Alyssa; great-grandchildren: Haiden, Madelyn, Carter, Milyn, and Caiden.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife Elizabeth (Fodor) Blake on January 17, 2011, as well as daughter-in-law Wanetta, sister Sara J. “Sally” Leach, and brother Eugene P. Blake, Jr.
Friends will be received Wednesday, July 31, 2013, from 7-9 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville with military honors provided by the US Army and VFW Post 1055.
