SMITH, Ralph H. Jr. DDS, MS., age 80 of Centerville passed away Thursday, August 1, 2013 at his residence. Ralph was born on October 14, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to Ralph H. and Ruth (Hughel) Smith Sr. He was preceded by his parents, three sisters, Mary Alice, Jane and Betty, his beloved cat, Singha, and by his loving wife Marilyn K. Smith. He is survived by three daughters, Kim Worland and her husband, Mike, Sarah Kishline and her husband, Scott, and Molly Tomcisin; Seven grandchildren, Cheryl Worland, Phillip (Lorelei) Worland, Teresa (Dan) Capen, Christina (Scott) Coulson, Tiffany Kishline, Andrea (Roman) Phan, and Jacob Kishline; one great grandchild, Peyton Capen; a sister-in-law, Ginny Newell; and several loving nieces and nephews. Ralph earned his DDS from the University of Michigan. He was a proud alumnus and was a past president of the University of Michigan Alumni Club in Dayton. He was a past president of the Dayton Dental Society. He served as the Commander of the Dental Clinic at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and retired from the Air Force having attained the rank of Colonel. Ralph was a member of Church of the Incarnation and served as a lector for many years. He was a huge supporter of the Arts in the Dayton area and served on several Boards. Friends may call from 4-7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2013 at the Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Ave., Centerville. Interment will follow the Mass in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
