She was born in Rochester, NH on May 6, 1934 the daughter of LeForest and Blanche (Blanchette) Files.
Marie grew up in the Keene area, attended local schools and was a graduate of Keene High School. She has lived in the area for most of her life and had spent several years in Florida. She was employed by the former Homestead Mills in Swanzey, NH for many years.
She was a member the Women of the Moose in Keene and a member of the Parish of the Holy Spirit and attended St. Bernard’s Church. She loved to do craft projects, especially crocheting, making wind chimes and jewelry. She loved to read anecdotes and humorous stories. One of her joys was being able to spend time with her family and share her projects with them and being with her African Grey Parrott, Lee, whom she has taken care of since his birth.
She is survived by two daughters, Claudette Tower of Keene, NH and Cindy Supry and her husband Michael of Sullivan, NH; two sons; Claude Hutchins and his wife Cindy of Nelson, NH and Michael Vazquez and his wife Resa of Swanzey, NH; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Bernard’s Church, 185 Main Street, Keene, NH on Wednesday morning, August 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorial contributions be made in Marie’s name to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. of NH and MA, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472
