Abraham Reife, 81, of Toms River died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at home. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Lakewood for 8 years before moving to Toms River in 1967. Mr. Reife was a graduate of City College in New York and went on to become a chemist. He was a chemist for 32 years with Ciba Geigy in Toms River. Upon retirement from Ciba Geigy, he was an international environmental and dye stuff consultant. He was a member of the American Chemistry Society and published the book Environmental Chemistry of Dyes and Pigments.
Mr. Reife is survived by his wife, Barbara of 58 years; his two sons, Michael Reife of Glastonbury,CT and Robert Reife of Redmond, WA; his daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Andrew Morris of Marlboro; and his two grandchildren, Steven and Rachel Morris.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18 at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, 1300 Vermont Ave. Lakewood. Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Lakewood, is in charge of arrangements.
