He was a native and lifelong resident of Vinton and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. Clent was a Korean War U.S. Marines veteran. He worked most of his life as a Welding Foreman and then worked with Walmart until his retirement.
Survivors include his children, Randy Horn of Orange, Texas, Michael Horn of Grand Isle, Clifford Carruthers of Orange, Texas, Donald Carruthers and wife, Michelle of Willis, Texas, and Kathleen Horn of Lake Charles; three grandchildren, Morgan Carruthers, Cory Breaux and wife, Mandi, and Blake Breaux and wife, Danielle; and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, June Carruthers; his companion, Ruby Bunch; and his siblings, John Carruthers, Dorothy Wilson, and Ruby Coward.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. The Rev. Susil Fernando will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday, all in the funeral home.
