Robert (Bob) Charles Blake passed away on August 18th, 2013. He was born on November 23, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to Harriet Flagel and Sheik Blake. He graduated high school as an All American football player.
Bob went on to receive an athletic scholarship and was a receiver at the University of New Mexico. He graduated with a business degree and he started his career with Milwaukee Tools. Bob went on to start his own business financing company (Blake Financial) in Austin, Texas, which he called his home for the last 30 years.
Bob was an avid racquetball player, instructor, teacher, mentor and coach. His athleticism followed him throughout his life as he coached his son’s baseball teams. He was a successful leader and mentor in his personal and professional lives.
Bob was a loving father, husband and friend. Bob is survived by his wife, Julie; and his children, Juley, Shawna, Brittni and Davis; as well as seven grandchildren.
A viewing for him will be at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home, in Austin, TX on Friday, August 23rd, 2013 from 6-8PM. A celebration of his life and memorial service is to be announced.
