Davis ‘Ed’ Bradshaw 87 of Marysville went to be with his Lord on August 23, 2013.
Ed was born January 22, 1926 in Pinehurst (Everett), Washington. Ed was in the first
Kindergarten class at Roosevelt Elementary. He graduated from Everett High School. He served
in the United States Navy during WWII in North Africa, Italy, and Southern France. While in the
Navy he received some of his training at the University of Illinois. After the war he sailed to
Alaska with the Coast and Geodetic Survey. He was a journeyman machinist and later taught
vocational class at Snohomish High School for 20 years. In the summers, he took his boat to
Alaska to commercial fish off of Sitka. He also flew for over 50 years, having owned ten planes
over the years. Ed and his wife Ruby made trips in the plane to Baja and many trips to Canada.
He is survived by his wife Ruby of sixty three years; daughter, Tracy and husband Jack
Zimmerman of Coupeville; two grandchildren, Michelle and Curt Whitney of Kelso, and Beth
and Joe Miller of Bellingham; five great-grandchildren, Meghan, Logan, Bergen, and Katie of
Kelso and Madison of Bellingham; as well as his close companion “Pepper”. He was preceded in
death by his parents, Dave and Mildred Bradshaw and his grandson, James.
A very special thank you to everyone on the 6th floor at Providence Medical Center – Colby
Campus, and to Providence Hospice.
A celebration of Ed’s life will be held Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Mt. View
Presbyterian Church, 5115 100th St. NE, Marysville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made
to Mt. View Presbyterian Church, Everett Gospel Mission, Normana Lodge Scholarship Fund,
and Providence Hospice.
