Richard (Rick) Parker Bingham, 61, of Troy NH died Aug. 22nd after a short battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. Rick was born in Alameda, CA on February 15, 1952, the son of Pearl and Leonard Bingham. He graduated from Bellows Falls High School in 1970 and enlisted in the Navy in 1971. After serving for 4 years on the Guided Missile Cruiser Richmond K. Turner (DLG-20) he was honorably discharged and settled in Troy NH. Rick worked at Troy Mills as the lead power plant operator until it closed in 2002. He then worked at the Brattleboro Retreat in a similar capacity until his death.
Survived by him are his children Emily Britt of Keene, NH and Elysia Bingham of Sullivan, NH; his brother Edward Bingham of Enfield, NH and his sister Pamela Adams of Sutton, MA; his partner of 26 years and best friend, Kelly Watson, her daughter Shannon Watson and son Eric Watson, as well as ten grandchildren.
There will be a wake at the Foley Funeral Home in Keene, NH Tuesday evening, Aug 27th between 6:00 and 8:00 pm. A memorial service will be held the following afternoon at 2:00 pm at the same location, with a burial ceremony immediately following at the Mountain View Cemetery in Troy, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Monadnock Humane Society in Swanzey, NH.
