Thomas Watts Andress, Jr. passed from this life on Saturday, August 24, 2013 with his wife by his side, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence, SC. He was born January 10, 1930 to Cornelia Gaillard and Thomas Watts Andress in Perdue Hill, AL, where he spent his childhood. Tom was a member of KA Fraternity and a graduate in Electrical Engineering at Auburn University. He retired in 1995, having been a project manager for Parsons, Inc. in Oak Ridge, TN and returned to his home of 50 years in Charlotte. The past several months he resided at an assisted living facility, Morningside of Hartsville, SC to be closer to his daughter. Tom loved "tinkering"- installing, building, and fixing machines, fixtures, electronics, etc. for anyone in need. He also refinished and built furniture, sewed and upholstered, and "put up" fruits and vegetables. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Ninette Prezioso, his daughter Diane (Ken) Moyd, and his brother Walter (Mary Helen) of Tuscaloosa, AL. Family will receive friends following a prayer service on Thursday, September 5, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church where a funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 2:00 pm. An inurnment service is to be held at a future date. McEwen Funeral Services Pineville Chapel is being entrusted with arrangements.
