Maurice J. Tardiff, 90, widower of Priscilla (Gagnon) passed away on Monday, Sept. 2, 2013. He was born in St. Agatha, Maine and was son to the late Patrick and Modeste (Pelletier) Tardiff. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, a lifelong parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church. He was a retiree of TRW Manufacturing and member of St. Jean the Baptiste Society. Maurice was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather. His hobbies included wood-working, gardening and ‘tinkering’ which meant getting anything fixed. He will be missed by his close neighbors and friends.
Maurice is survived and will be dearly missed by his three daughters; Jennie Martin and her husband Richard, Linda Tardiff and Phyllis Maxey and her husband Daniel, his three sisters: Hilda Sylvain, Odile Raymond and Aline Suplinskas, his sweet six grandchildren; Christina Bishop and her husband Beau, Lisa Buckley and her husband Myles, Tanya Martin, Sara Westbrook and her husband Colin, Kristopher Maxey and Corey Maxey, his precious eight great grandchildren; Glenn Pierce, Bryan Buckley, Adam Buckley, Abigail Buckley, Aedon Westbrook, Caitlynn Jiantonio, Liam Westbrook and Hailey Bishop and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Ouellette and brothers; Lucien and Raoul Tardiff.
Funeral services will begin Friday, Sept. 6, 2013 at 9:00am from New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave, New Britain, followed by the funeral liturgy at 10AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church. Entombment with military honors will follow in St. Mary Garden Mausoleum. Visitation hours will be Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013 from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
