Undine Miller Chesson, 59, of Raleigh died Monday at her home. She was born in Asheville, NC, but grew up in Thomasville, NC. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Lola Wayne Miller, and Mrs. Undine Cline Miller. Undine was a graduate of East Carolina University with a degree in Therapeutic Recreation. She retired after 32 years of service with Dorthea Dix Hospital , as a Rehabilitation Supervisor in Adolescent Services.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Gray Chesson in 1998.
Surviving is her daughter, Natalie Chesson Pope (Alex) of Raleigh; two brothers, Fletcher and Darrell Miller; beloved granddaughter, Kayla Celeste Pope; three special uncles, Charles, Bill, and Jim Cline; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 3pm at Edenton Street United Methodist Church in Raleigh. The family will receive guests following the service at the church.
A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday at 12noon at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to breast cancer research, or to a local charity to help feed children in need.
