LUCINDA MARY KANTZ MCFETRIDGE, age 67, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013, in Sugar Land, Texas. She was born on December 21, 1945 in Jacksonville, Texas. Lucinda earned her Bachelor of Arts degrees in French and Spanish from the University of Texas at Austin. A devoted Army wife for thirty years, she received numerous awards, including the Commander’s Award in Fort Knox, Kentucky, and was very active in volunteer work, most recently at Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. She had a passion for computers, dancing and travel and loved animals, especially her cats. Lucinda is survived by her husband, Charles Donald McFetridge; daughters, Kristin McFetridge and Adriane McFetridge and husband Robert Barnett; brother, Thomas Kantz and wife Nancy; grandchildren, Guinevere Barnett and Nicholas Barnett; mother-in-law, Mary McFetridge; and brother-in-law, Robert McFetridge. A memorial celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 7, 2013, in the Morrow Chapel of the Settegast-Kopf Co. at Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land (Williams Trace Exit). The family has requested that no flowers be sent but that memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Houston, www.houstonhumane.org/donate, or to the ASPCA, www.aspca.org.
