Graveside service for Raymond James Morton, 88, of Tanner will be Friday, September 13, 2013, at 2 p.m. at White Oak Cemetery in Albertville with Pastor Glenn Panky officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon at Roselawn Funeral Home in Decatur.
Mr. Morton died Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at Limestone Health Facility. He was a retired textile engineer for Monsanto. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Decatur and graduated from Auburn University in 1950. He also served in the U.S. Air Force and was a combat veteran and a P.O.W. in World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Tula Massey Morton.
Survivors include one son, Raymond Douglas Morton of Decatur; two daughters, Roanna Morton Cook of Tanner and Patrice Morton Moon of Pelham; one grandchild, Richard Clayborn Cook of Huntsville; two great-grandchildren, Hugh Cook and Belle Cook, both from Huntsville.
