Rev. John Henry Russell, 83, of Jeffersonville, IN and formally of Warsaw, OH died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN. Rev. Russell was born in Maysville, Kentucky on July 17, 1930 the son of the late William H. and Verna Mae Cordray Russell. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving his country in the US Air Force. Rev. Russell operated a Chevrolet Dealership in Warsaw, OH for twenty-five years and was an Elementary School Teacher. He served in his ministry for the Lord a total of fifty-five years in which he served as pastor for the Warsaw First Presbyterian for thirty years. Rev. Russell is survived by his wife, Rev. Holly Darling Russell; sons, John T. Russell (Debbie) of Stout, OH; Terry J. Russell (Betty Jo) of Warsaw, OH; Jerry S. Russell N. Versailles, PA and Derek E. Davis (Jenny) of Jeffersonville, IN; grandchildren, Lisa Stamp of Louisville, OH, Eric Russell of Cameron, NC; Missy Renner of Athens, OH, Tara Ashcraft of Warsaw, OH, Ethan Davis and Eliza Davis both of Jeffersonville, IN. and seven great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, William Eugene Russell, Stanley Gordon Russell and Charles Edward Russell and one sister, Thelma L. Burton. Funeral services for Rev. John Henry Russell will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Saturday, September 14, 2013 with Rev. Benjamin McKinstry officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Garden of Memories. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service.
