PEREZ, Emma “Bonnie” age 89, of Flint, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013 at home. Funeral Service will be 11AM Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc. Fr. Steve Anderson officiating. Interment at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be 1-4 & 6-8PM Monday and 10AM Tuesday until time of service at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to McLaren Hospice or a charity of one’s choice in memory of Bonnie.
Bonnie was born July 1, 1924 in Flint the daughter of the late Charles Henry and Minnie Lee (Tate) Jackson. She married Peter Perez on May 28, 1949 in Flint and he preceded her in death on September 4, 2002. Bonnie was very proud of being the first female employee hired to General Motors SPO in Drayton Plains, where she worked for 23 years. She was also a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Bonnie enjoyed sewing, fishing, camping and growing flowers. She was a great cook, and treated her family to many wonderful meals. She will be missed dearly, and remembered forever.
Surviving are her 4 children, Peter Perez (Sharon) of Flint, James Perez (Deborah) of Flint Twp., Denise Bennett (Mark) of Phoenix, AZ, Felicia Lynn Coleman (Craig Crawford) of Flint; 6 granddaughters and 6 grandsons; 27 great-grandchildren; sister, Meryl Howard of Davison.
