Curtis O’Neal Glass passed away September 19, 2013, at Veterans Victory House in Walterboro, SC. He was born on April 15, 1920, in New Hope, Alabama, to Oscar and Ester Clark Glass. He enlisted in the Army during World War II, achieving the rank of Lieutenant in the 2nd Armored Division, and was decorated with a Purple Heart and Silver Star for service in Africa and Europe. He moved to Chattanooga after the war and married Kathleen Green Glass. He cherished the annual Clark/Glass family reunions in Alabama and visiting with relatives and fellow veterans. He moved to North Augusta, South Carolina, in the latter part of his life and then to Veterans Victory House in Walterboro, South Carolina. There he developed deep friendships with the staff and fellow veterans. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, brothers: Ernest, Garner, John, and LD; sisters: Nannie (Nancy) Wade and Edna Patty. He is survived by his son, Kenneth D. (Christine) Glass and grandson Robert D. Glass of North Augusta; daughter Betty J. Glass of Sparks, Nevada; sister Virginia Cook of Gadsden, Alabama; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Chattanooga on September 23, 2013
