Cecelia “Ceil” Beans (nee Maruschak), a resident of Warminster, Pennsylvania, for 69 years, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at Abington Memorial Hospital. She was 83 years old. Cecelia was born February 8, 1930, in Dunmore, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late John Maruschak and the late Anna Maruschak (nee Hyduchak).
She was the beloved wife of the late Marvin Beans for 57 years; mother of Bruce (Kathleen), Robert (Mary) and Thomas Beans; grandmother of Michael (Melissa), Carolyn (Romel) and Christopher Beans; great grandmother of Maria Beans; and sister of Eugene Maruschak (Leticia) and the late Mary Moran.
In the summer of 1944 she moved with her parents and two siblings to Warminster so her father could take a job with the Pennsylvania Railroad. Along with her husband-to-be, she was a 1947 graduate of Upper Southampton-Warminster High School, where she was the treasurer of her class. Her first job involved waitressing at the Old Mill Inn, Hatboro. In 1948, she began working at the Naval Air Development Center in Johnsville in its Personnel Department, where she worked until her retirement in 1974. For her final 15 years, she worked in a supervisory capacity as a personnel staffing specialist.
Following her retirement, she joined the Montgomery County chapter of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, for which she worked tirelessly—as she did in everything she pursued—as its secretary for more than three decades.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday, September 28, at the Wm. Rowan Grant Funeral Home, 659 Street Road, Southampton, PA 18966.
