A native of the Lindenwald area of Hamilton, passed away on Thursday September 26, 2013. He and his beloved wife, Jeannine Marilyn (Iutzwig) Peters recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on September 24, 2013. Leroy “Roy” was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is remembered as a gentle, caring, generous entrepreneur who enjoyed local travel, antiquing with his loving wife, Jeannine. Leroy “Roy” served our country in the United State Air Force during the Korean War where he was a language specialist in Russian, stationed in Berlin and Darmstadt, Germany. After the war, Leroy attended Miami University in Oxford, and later applied his skills in Journalism working at the Hamilton Journal. The owner of Allied Printing Company in Hamilton, Leroy achieved success from 1969 to 1996 providing printing services and design for companies including First National Bank, City of Hamilton, Fort Hamilton Hospital and Mercy Hospital. Beloved by all, his recent days were enjoyed with reading, playing with his family, and pool games with his friends. Leroy was proud to be a part of the Honor Flight Program and visited the war memorials in Washington D.C. He is survived by his wife, Jeannine Peters; three daughters, Stephanie (Mark) Russo, Alicia (Donny) Riley and Jennifer (Greg) Shelhouse; five grandchildren, Joseph (Nicole) Kerinuk, Nicholas, Emily, Sarah and Zachary Russo; three step-grandchildren, Megan, Jacob and Ellery Riley; three great grandchildren, Baylen, Eian and Ayla; one sister Shirley Roesch. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry C. and Dovie M. (Phelps) Peters. Funeral Ceremony will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday October 1, 2013 at the Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home with Rev. Valerie Waibel officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
