Anna was preceded in death by her husband Verle Hatch, of 60 years who passed away in April; brother, Henry (Hank) Gobin who passed in April; her mother, Isabelle Walker Brown; father, Henry Gobin Sr.; and siblings, Shirley, Emery, Daryl, Frank and John.
Anna M. Hatch was a housewife, a mother for the first 20 years of marriage. She loved taking care of her husband and her three daughters. She never went to work until they were all grown, the youngest being 18 years old. That was when she felt she could go onto the next phase in her life. Anna joined the work force and spent 20 years at the Tulalip Smoke Shop. Her and Verle were very well known for always being together. They were hardly ever away from one another. Many say, “When you saw one you saw the other.” They went on a drive every day, the same route, the same stops for years. She loved going to the fairs and traveling with the Elders on the trips the Elder’s Program provided. She enjoyed going shopping. Her favorite was going to the malls up North. She and Verle would go out and have breakfast and go shopping. She was a very ambitious women on the go every day. People say all the time, “Where does she get her energy, she always gone so early.” She was not a women to sit still, on the go every day.
Anna loved Christmas, her favorite holiday. Every year she would decorate the whole house inside and out with lights, a tree, candles, and her Christmas table clothes that she had bought at the fair as well as with other decorations to accent the festivities.
Mom had dad set up a tent out in the yard every year. This tent was big enough for two chairs, a table and a TV to watch their football or baseball games. They would BBQ many nights. Anna loved to eat outside. Her favorite pastimes when she wasn’t out on a ride was reading Harback Books – she had her own book clerk that always special order or pre-order her books. In her younger years, she knitted wool sweaters and worked jigsaw puzzles at the kitchen table.
When mom and dad became ill, they were forced to slow down. When She lost her husband of 60 years, she became ill, very sad and very lonely. She is now reunited with Verle and other family. Never again will one be without the other!
