Retired Evendale Police Chief, Jack Martin Gower, passed on October 2nd, 2013. He leaves behind his wife and companion of sixty years, Bertha(Boots) Gower, their four children; David Martin Gower and wife, Linda Jensen, Jenny Dennis, Cathy Kinney, Edie Munlin and her husband, Win Munlin, their nine grandchildren; Paul and Alex Gower, Rob Kinney and his wife, Claire, James Kinney and his wife, Tricia, Bryan Dennis and his wife, Kelly, Becca Dennis, Rachel, Annie, and Molly Grady, and also their two great-grandchildren; Holden and Lukas Kinney.
His wise and thoughtful demeanor, as an officer and chief, made Jack a great role model to those who served under him. His compassion for others made him a pillar of society, and his generosity and love led him to continue to serve the communities of Sharonville, Evendale, Fort Myers, and beyond with the fruits of his garden; always planting enough to share with all of his family and friends.
His leather football helmet that he wore at Sharonville High and the semi-pro team he played on afterwards showed his toughness in life, but his dedication and hard-fought battle to live life on his own terms proved it. He was a great man, and he will be greatly missed. Visitation will be Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Schmidt-Dhonau-Kucner Funeral Home on Reading Rd., Sharonville, Ohio from 11:00am – until time of service at 2pm. Donations can be made to the SK Holtsinger Presby. Church, Auburn Ave., Gano, Ohio 45241.
