Patricia Jane Stotko Bell passed away on October 7, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 18, 1923, in Seattle WA the second and youngest daughter of George Britten and Lois Lippy Britten. Patricia attended St. Johns School, Queen Anne High School and the University of Washington. During World War II she served in the United States Navy attending Hunter College in New York City and then was stationed at Naval Air Station Astoria Oregon and Sand Point Naval Station, Seattle, WA. In 1946 she married William J. Stotko. They made their first home in Seattle. In 1951 they moved to Maltby, WA and farmed there for 21 years. In 1974 they moved to Central WA. They retired in 1981 and spent several years’ snow birding in Yuma, AZ. After the death of her husband in 1991 she moved to Monroe to be near her children. In 1993 she married Robert J. Bell, together they spent many happy years traveling and enjoying their golden years.
Patricia was member of the American Legion Post 58, The American Legion Auxiliary Unit #58. She was a 50 year member of the Horseshoe Grange and a 43 year member of the Eagles Auxiliary.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents George and Lois Britten, her first husband William J. Stotko, her sister Eudora Nixon, her son Leonard Stotko and granddaughter Lisa Stotko.
She is survived by her husband Robert J Bell, three sons and daughter-in-laws, Bill and Carey Stotko, Robert and Nancy Stotko and Martin and Betty Stotko. Patricia leaves six beloved daughters and son-in-laws, Shirley and Larry Betschart, Mary and Rod Hewitt, Christine and John Guest, Joanne and Michael Dickinson, Anne and Mark Emel and Theresa and Nick Moran. She also leaves stepson Robert Bell Jr., his wife Sally and stepdaughter Trudie Sarich.
Patricia also leaves her much loved grandchildren and their spouses, Leesa Jones, David &Lori York, Laurie Harlan, Christopher & Alison Stotko, Nicholas & Shea Stotko, Trish & Melissa Stotko-Edie, Theresa & Joel Stotko-Martinez, Rod & Renee Hewitt, Melissa & Jason Reiner, Sarah & Anthony Holly, Andrew Hewitt, Rachel & Omala Daniels, Abby Isaac, Jeff & Shelley Dickinson, Scott Dickinson & Blake Mann, Staci & Rowan Carey, Amanda Emel, Joe & Kelly Emel, Jessica & Jonathon Terpstra, Aaron & Roxi Manry, Victoria Moran, Kenneth Stotko, Stephen Stotko, Sophia Stotko, Patti Sanchez, Cathy Stotko, Angela Stotko, Marcie Stotko,. 34 Great grandchildren, and 2 Great-great grandchildren.
Her family will miss her greatly but finds comfort in knowing she is enjoying all the benefits of heaven. They would like to thank all those who have shown compassion and support throughout this difficult time.
Family rosary will be held at 12:30 p.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Valley, Catholic Church in Monroe on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be at Monroe I.O.O.F. Cemetery where she will be laid to rest. Arrangements by Purdy, & Kerr with Dawson Funeral Home.
