Virginia was born January 19, 1935 in Bow Valley, Nebraska to the late Lewis F. Uhing and Rosella Kohls Uhing. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Grace Care Center of Cypress in Houston, TX, with her family at her side.
Virginia was retired but formerly worked with the Daily Iberian in the circulation dept., and with Tuesday Morning in Houston. Outside of her work, she was heavily involved with both the Boy and Girl Scouts when the children were young. She was also actively supportive in youth sports and academic accomplishments of all, and was very proud of her family. As an animal lover, she raised maltese dogs and became a certified veterinary assistant. Her long list of precious animals prepared her for the rescue of her beloved Sassy, the best dressed dog around.
She loved camping, and traveling all over the USA visiting family and friends, and even visited Australia. RVing became second nature to her and Mark, and they enjoyed being members of the “Crusin’ Cajuns” family. As an excellent seamstress, she became an avid embroiderer. She so generously and unselfishly enjoyed donating and gifting churchs, priests, and family and friends with these gifts that will be cherished forever. She will forever be known as a devoted Elvis Fan. To her friends, she always put them first offering up the largest of shoulders to lean on. Her wisdom knew no end. She leaves behind many fond memories that will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Markee A. Olsberg of Magnolia, TX; her children, Mark A. Olsberg (Liz) of Fredericksburg, VA, Mickey S. Olsberg (Cindy) of Gilbert, AZ, Valerie A.
