TOGUS: Albert L. Deschene, 85, of Lisbon passed away Saturday morning at the VA Hospital in Togus with his family by his side. He was born in Auburn on April 19, 1928 a son of the late William and Marie Anna (Landry) Deschene. He grew up in the Auburn area and attended local schools there. Albert was a veteran of the United States Navy and served his country proudly during WWII. On August 30, 1948 he married the love of his life Florianne Pratt in Rock Island, Canada and they started a family together. Albert was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also really enjoyed snowmobiling. He was a life member of the VFW as well. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Florianne Deschene of Lisbon, 8 children Rene of Lisbon Falls, Gerald and his wife Jane of Poland, Roland of Poland, Doris Beaulieu of Smithfield, Donald and his wife Donna of Lewiston, Marian Frost and her husband Terrance of Levant, Janet Enos and her husband Larry of Turner and Paul and his wife Tonia of Lewiston; a sister Therese Morin of Lewiston; a brother Fernand and his wife Marguerite of East Angus, Canada; and 2 sister-in-laws Laurette Duquette and Leose Ducharme. He also leaves behind 23 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Linda Card and a brother Gerard Deschene. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday October 22, 2013 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday October 23, 2013 at Holy Trinity Church in Lisbon at 10am. A committal service with military honors will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Lewiston.
