John J. Bogues, Sr., husband of Sarah H. (Kayser) Bogues was called to his Father on October 19, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. John was born on March 29, 1921 in Fall River, MA to John P. Bogues and Anna Kubisec and moved to Danbury as a young boy. He served in the U.S. Navy on board the USS Boston during World War II.
He married Sarah H. Kayser on April 29, 1946 and they spent 67 years loving each other. He retired from the State of Connecticut Highway Department and from the City of Danbury.
Survivors in addition to his wife of 67 years include 4 sons: John J. Bogues, Jr. (Barbara), Danbury; Peter F. Bogues (Alice), Clayton, NC; Paul E. Bogues (Dawn), Naugatuck; Thomas C. Bogues, Bethel; 1 sister, Anne Pracuta, Durham, NC; 14 grandchildren: John Bogues III (Beth); David Bogues (Dawn); Christopher Bogues (Christine); Jeffrey Bogues (Karen); Keith Bogues (Lauren); Jessica Quell (Jon); Joseph Tomchik (Sherri); Jeffrey Tomchik (Heather); Rachael Nelthropp (Brian); Michael Bogues; Sarah Alizadah (Nima); Matthew Bogues; Ryan Bogues (Shelley); Brandon Bogues and 15 Great Grandchildren.
John was predeceased by 2 brothers, Joseph and Francis; 1 sister, Genevieve Deep and his precious granddaughter, Heather Marie Bogues..
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Wednesday October 23rd at Saint Peter Church, Danbury. Burial with military honors will be in Saint Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street Danbury on Wednesday morning from 9:00am until 10:00am.
