Age 71, went to her eternal home on October 25, 2013 based on her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior. Bobbie was born on July 13, 1942 in South Bend, IN. She is preceded in death be her parents, Jackson and Eunice; daughter, Cheryl Baetsle. She is survived by her sisters, Jackie Jackson and Peg Town; children, Joanne (David) Rendall of Mishawaka, IN, Diane (Carl) Wittendorf of Granger, IN, Suzanne (Joe) Scheller of Champlin, MN and Bryan (Brenda) Baetsle of Wasilla, AK as well as August Baetsle; grandchildren, Josh, Matt, Jacob, Beccah, Eden, Christian, Charity, Abby, Tim, Peter and Mark; and many nieces and nephews. Bobbie was known for her perseverance, volunteerism, hospitality, education, leadership, and faith. She enjoyed life, including music, the outdoors, and playing games with her grandchildren. Bobbie earned her BS in Public Affairs and Environmental Policy from Indiana University and a Master's degree in Organizational Leadership at age 68. She recently retired after a 30 year career with Girl Scouts, remaining dedicated to the development of girls as troop leader, camp director, consultant, and executive director in over 7 states, including Singing Sands Council near Mishawaka, IN; St. Croix Valley Council in St. Paul, MN; Girl Scouts USA in New York City; Kaw Valley Council in Topeka, KS; Connecticut Valley Council in Hartford, CT; Bergen County Council in Paramus, NJ; and Shagbark Council in Mt. Vernon, IL. Her leadership was an inspiration to many and her continual focus on others guided her interaction. A Memorial Service will be held 10AM Friday, November 1, 2013 at North Heights Lutheran Church, 1700 Hwy 96 W, Arden Hills with a visitation 1 hour prior. Private interment. Memorials are preferred to North Heights Lutheran Church.
