China Grove- Nathan J. Adams, 80, passed away Friday morning, October 25, 2013, at his residence, following a period of declining health. Born June 9, 1933 in Rowan County, he was a son of the late George Lee and Ola Mae Belk Adams. A graduate of China Grove High School and Salisbury Business College, he had honorably served his country with the US Army during the Korean War. Mr. Adams was a member of South China Grove Baptist Church and the American Legion Post 0185.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Joe Adams.
Family members left to cherish his memory include his wife of 58 years, Peggy Russell Adams; his children, Sabetha Upright and husband, Tim, of Salisbury, Pam Troutman of Gold Hill and Nathan Scott Adams and wife, Kristy, of Rockwell; sisters, Sarah Murphy of Waynesville, Judy King and husband, Gene, of Lexington, NC and Susan Frank and husband, Steve, of Boone; his sister-in-law, Doris Russell; grandchildren, Jonathan Upright and wife, Cindy, Christopher Troutman and fiancee, Lauren, Anna Perry and husband, Eric, Remi and Seeley Adams; great-grandson, Caden Upright, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, October 28, 2013, from 1:00-2:00 pm, at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. Graveside services will begin at 2:00 at West Lawn Memorial Park, conducted by Rev. Tony Wagoner, Pastor, South China Grove Baptist Church.
