Joseph Tate Davis, age 86, of Bulls Gap, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Laughlin Memorial Hospital. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Bulls Gap, Masonic Lodge #764 of Bulls Gap, Lion’s Club, Scottish Rite, and the Jericho Temple. He was a Veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Patricia B. Davis; sons, Robert (Kathy) Davis, Ted (Kim) Davis; grandchildren, Blake (Terrylee) Davis, Brad Davis, Kyle Davis; great-grandsons, Ethan Stroud, Blaklen Davis; great-granddaughter, Tayleeann Davis; several brothers and sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church of Bulls Gap on Friday, November 1, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Rev. Faith Rammer, Rev. Richard Long, and Rev. Scott Farmer will officiate. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday morning in Hamblen Memory Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service. Military honors will be provided by Hawkins Co Color Guard. The family will receive friends at the church Friday evening from 5 – 7:00 p.m. prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church of Bulls Gap. Stubblefield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
