Comie LeVerne Coleman, 62, a resident of Greensboro died Wednesday October 30, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Coleman was born August 20, 1951 in Greensboro, the son of Comie and Sarah Elizabeth Nelson Coleman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. After his discharge from the Army he was employed with the U. S. Postal Service in Greensboro from 1973 until he retired in 2008. He worked at the Bulk Mail Center. He was branch president for the BMC of the local #305 Mail Handlers Union for 14 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Bill and Harvey Coleman
He is survived by his daughter, Ginger Coleman; six sisters, Audrey Coltrane and husband Ronnie, Diane Gaither and husband Joe, Suzie Lee and husband Donnie, Monnie Ledford, Kathy Parham and husband Ray, Nadine Sutton and husband Steve; two brother, Harold Coleman and wife Patsy, James “Jim” Coleman and wife Ann Marie and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a gathering of friends and family Monday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Vanstory Chapel and service of sharing by family and friends at 5:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts are requested to be made in Comie’s memory to the American Diabetes Asso., 1300 Baxter St., Suite 150, Charlotte, NC 28204 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
