Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall, Michigan. He was born July 18, 1925 to Fred and Inez
(Holtz) Benjamin in Albion.
James lived most of his life in Albion and he was a graduate of Washington High School.
He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. James was a truck driver for
Harvard Industries for 40+ years. He was well known as owner/operator of the
Albion Cab for many years. He was a hard worker who enjoyed buying and
repairing cars. James was known as a loving and giving man who always helped
others.
James is survived by:
Sons- Fred Benjamin
Carl (Tanze) Tabb
Daughters- Pauline (Clarence) Grant
Fairstene Haggard
Patricia Johnson
Sister- Geraldine Coleman
Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Delila Arnold and brother-in-law
Herman Coleman.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, November 8, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Bethel Baptist Church, 523 Washington Street, Albion, Michigan 49224 with Pastor Fred Alexander officiating. Family Hour will start at 10:00 A.M. at the church. Interment will be
at Riverside Cemetery, Albion.
