Florence Scheuber McClellan was born Oct. 29, 1915 in Fort Worth, Texas, the
daughter of Florence and John Scheuber, long-time San Angelo residents. She attended
San Angelo Public Schools, San Angelo Junior College (now Angelo State Univ.) and
the University of Texas in Austin.
In 1942 Florence was married to Andrew Todd Davis. He was a member of the
pioneer DeBerry family. The couple lived in Arizona until the time of his death in 1961.
In 1963 Florence married Jack McClellan of Huntington, W.Va. a former San Angeloan. The couple lived in West Virginia until they returned to San Angelo in 1980.
Jack McClellan died in 1981.
Mrs. McClellan was a dedicated volunteer in various local areas, for which she received the Jefferson Volunteer Award. She was an active member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church and of Rio Concho West, where she lived for many years.
Her parents and brother, Sam Scheuber preceded her in death. She is survived by
one daughter, Peggy Davis Molander of Boston, Massachusetts and one son, Mark McClellan of
Beaumont, Texas. There are five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also surviving
her are two nieces of San Angelo, Peggy Bien and Betty Perry.
Funeral services will be at Emmanuel Episcopal Church on Monday, November 11 at 2 PM.
