Francisco Lao Almoina was born October 06, 1927 in Tubigon, Bohol, Philippines to Pedro Lofranco Almoina and Susana Lao. He passed away with loving family at his bedside on November 09, 2013 (age 86) at the Fred Lowthian Care Center Hospice of Kitsap County in Bremerton, WA. He was a World War II survivor of a prison camp during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines. After the war, he married the former Pacita Casidsid of Numancia, Aklan and had three children. He was the Chief Supervisor for San Miguel Bottling Company for 28 years. During this period, he opened his home a place to stay to nieces and nephews while pursuing their higher education in Manila.
He is survived by his children: Susan and husband Gene Perez, Pacita and husband Nolen Lacanlale, Jerry and wife Nelly Almoina; eight grandchildren: Janet and husband Brian DeCastro, Jason Perez, Jamie and husband Nick Dorsey, Yeng and wife Gen, Crystal and Daryl Lacanlale, Jeremy and Nathan Almoina plus two great grandchildren – Isabella and Giana DeCastro. Visitation will be held on Thursday & Friday (November 14-15, 2013) at 4pm-8pm at Miller-Woodlawn in Bremerton, WA. A funeral service to honor his life and legacy will be held at Miller-Woodlawn at 1pm on November 16, 2013.
