Clyde Jennings, age 90, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in Beaumont, TX. Services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 15, 2013 at North End Baptist Church with Rev. David Goolsby and Chaplain David Cross officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
Mr. Jennings was born on October, 17, 1923 in Clyde, Ohio. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII receiving a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Mr. Jennings was among the young men at the famous “Battle of the Bulge”. Clyde was a retired millwright for Dupont Beaumont Works. He was a member of North End Baptist Church and enjoyed wood working. Mr. Jennings volunteered countless hours of service at Roy Guess Elementary, Baptist Hospital and the Opportunity Camp.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold Jennings and Mildred Jennings, baby daughter, Dixie Lee, three brothers, William “Bill” Jennings, Robert “Bob” Jennings and Lamar “Shorty” Jennings and one sister, Mae JoAnn Jennings.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary Lee Jennings. A son, Scott Jennings and his fiancé Donna Moore of Beaumont, TX. Two daughters, Vickie Shaw and her partner Lori Patsch of League City, TX and Sandy Mitchell and her husband Edgar of Woodville, TX. One brother, Harold Jennings of Napoleon, Ohio Ten grandchildren; Melinda, Kenneth, Dixie, Nikki, Vonnie, Mathew, Wesley, Hayley, Joshua and Justina. Twenty four great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
