Clarence Gilbert “Jim” Chamberlain, of Naples, Florida, died Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Avow Hospice in Naples. He was 85. Formerly of Peoria, Illinois, he had been a resident of Naples since 1976. Jim was born April 3, 1928 in Bartonville, Illinois, a son of the late Eugene R. and Mabel (Galloway) Chamberlain. Mr. Chamberlain was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. Following his time in the service, Jim worked at the headquarters for Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria for 33 years before retiring in 1976. He was an avid NASCAR fan who enjoyed rooting for #24 Jeff Gordon. Jim also liked fishing and working on cars. Most importantly, Jim will be remembered as a devoted family man who lived by honest and moral values. In the most recent years Jim had lovingly provided caretaking for his wife. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Anna Mae (Grubaugh) Chamberlain; loving children, James Eberle of Littleton, CO, Dave (Diana) Daily, Gene (Cyndie) Chamberlain, Tim Chamberlain, and Leah (Jeff) Pogel, all of Naples, FL; sister, Madylon Shupert of Oceanside, CA and Kathryn Knick of Sun City, CA; brother-in-law, Robert Spenny of Auburn, WA; seven cherished grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Paul, Leon, and Leah. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Davison-Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home in Glasford, IL. Rev. Walter Wilkins will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Burial will follow at Lancaster Cemetery in Glasford.
