James Cline, 83, formerly of Norwalk, IA died Sunday, November 24, 2013 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines with burial and military honors at St. John’s Cemetery in Cumming, IA.
James was born October 7, 1930 in Chicago, IL to George and Dorothy Downs Cline. He graduated from Norwalk High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. He was a truck driver for RR Donnelley in Des Moines, IA for over 25 years and also did farming in Norwalk. James married Mary E. Edwards on Friday, September 1, 1989 in Des Moines. He was a member of St. Mary Cathedral in Cape Girardeau, MO.
James is survived by his wife, Mary E. Cline; daughter, Cathy Hommer of Indianola, IA; two sons, James P. Cline of Plainville, IL and Michael A. Cline of Marion, IA; three brothers; eight sisters; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother and sister.
