Born in the Ukraine on April 9, 1940, he was a son to the late Gragor and Orena (Sadorestchny) Sydelnik. Alex migrated to East Stroudsburg from Hamburg, Germany in 1951. He was a graduate of East Stroudsburg High School and served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon his honorable discharge he returned home to Monroe County where he gained employment with Ranson Lighter Corp, of Delaware Water Gap; and later worked for and retired from Caesar’s Pocono Resort, in the village of Marshalls Creek.
He was a member of the Monroe County Republican Party, Stroudsburg, and the National Rifle Association, enjoyed assisting with the Special Olympics, Monroe County, Toys for Tots of Monroe County, and playing golf. Alex cherished his god-children and loved spending his time with his girls.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was his brother Michael Sydelnik.
Alex will be missed by his family, Lori, Frank, Frankie, William, Noelle, and Nicolle Frazetta, and his dog Olexij, with whom he resided with in East Stroudsburg.
A public gathering will be held on Thursday evening December 5, 2013 from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. John W. Harding, Pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Craigs Meadow Road, East Stroudsburg, officiating. Interment will be held on Friday at 10:00 A.M. in Prospect Cemetery.
