Donald Louis Rostan, 57, died suddenly January 5, 2014 in Houston TX. Don, affectionately known to many as "Otto" or "Mudd" was born January 26, 1956 to Frank R. and Kathryn M (Fleming) Rostan. He graduated from Girard High School, Girard, OH in 1974 and moved to Houston in 1978. He was employed by Ben E. Keith and previously worked for Sysco for 33 years.
He loved his family, his numerous friends across the USA, playing golf, and having a great time. He was always cooking, entertaining and was the "Ultimate Party Host". He always kept the drinks cold and your hearts warm.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kyle (July 29, 1992), and father, Frank (June 14, 1985); and now joins them on the greatest golf course. Don is survived by his loving wife Annette; also by his children: Frank and wife Katherine, Russell, Kynan, Koren and husband Dan; and granddaughters Bailee and Morgan; his mother, Kathryn; brothers: Thomas and wife Angie, Frank and wife Suzanne, William and wife Candace, Robert and wife Nancy, Richard and wife Jodi; sisters: Mary Margret, and Nancy and husband Joseph. He also leaves 16 nephews and nieces who always had a better time when Uncle Donald was present, often referred to as their gentle giant.
A celebration of Don's life was held Wednesday, January 8 at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Chapel in Houston. Thursday, January 9th a Memorial Service was held in the Chapel after which he was laid to rest at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
There will be a Memorial Mass on Sunday, January 26th at St. Rose Catholic Church, Girard, Ohio at 1:30. A gathering will be held immediately following the service in the church basement.
Don's Love of Life continues as he was an organ donor. Today there is a young lady with restored eyesight thanks to his generosity.
