.William (Bill) L. Bacon, 63, of Harrisburg, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Harrisburg Hospital. He was born September 19, 1950 in Beaver County, PA. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Geraldine (Neal) Bacon and his sister, Patti Council.
Bill served the members of the Service Employees International Union Local 668 as a Legislative Director. He also was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity.
Bill served as a delegate for the Democratic Party, was involved in local politics, and worked hard for the working families and inspired many others in their struggles for workers’ rights.
Surviving Bill are his wife, Adele Frullani; daughter, Rose Frullani-Bacon; 2 brothers, Randall Bacon, of Rochester, and Kerry Bacon, of Harrisburg; 3 sisters, Gail Bacon and Pirie Kay Bacon, both of Washington D.C. and Penny Bacon, of Harrisburg; and 7 nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 10, 2014 at the First Assembly of God of Harrisburg, 4100 Progress Ave., Harrisburg. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM Friday until the time of the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bill’s daughter’s Relay for Life team, which benefits the American Cancer Society. Donations can be mailed to Rose Frullani-Bacon, 4501 N. Charles St., Baltimore, MD, 21210, MS 1215.
