Andy was born in Danbury, a son of the late Andrew and Marion Siski Repko. He was a lifelong Danbury resident and was part of the fiber that made up this community. He attended Danbury Public Schools and was a 1950 graduate of Danbury High School. After high school he joined the Navy and served during the Korean Conflict for 3 years, 11 months and 19 days.
On his return he began his career as a roofer with Repko & Sons Roofing, which would span the next 60+ years until his retirement in 2006.
Andy was an avid scuba diver and owned and operated Repko’s Scuba Diving in the early 1960’s. He will also be remembered by many Danbury Little Leaguers for his hot dogs, popcorn and sno-cones. Andy was a true sportsman; from downhill skiing, football, racquetball and hunting in his early years. Later, in his retirement, he spent endless hours out on Long Island Sound fishing on his beloved “Reptide”. He also enjoyed taking trips to the casinos and watching the UCONN Women’s Basketball Team.
Andy is survived by his two sons: Andrew V. Repko, III of New Milford and Alan Repko and his wife, Siobhan, of Danbury. His loving grandchildren: Andrea Repko and Andrew V. Repko, IV. His sisters: Helen Wahlstrom and her husband, Dave; Nancy Piskura and her husband, Joseph; Pauline Basso and Patricia Repko. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:30am at St. Joseph Church, Danbury, with the Rev. Samuel Scott, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 5pm to 8pm at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
