Gary was born in Flint, Michigan on May 27, 1951 and raised Lutheran. He graduated from Michigan State University in 1974 with a degree in Computer Science. He worked for General Motors and eventually EDS, which allowed him and his family the opportunity to live in London, England, Centreville, Virginia, and finally settling in Raleigh, NC. While in Raleigh, he also worked for TM Floyd in SC.
Gary enjoyed Michigan State football games. He also liked traveling, but above all, his family was most important to him. He valued the time he was able to spend with Carole, his children, and grandchildren. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Carole; children, Todd (Terri), Chad (Bonnie), and Lisa; grandchildren, Parker, Camryn, Kellan, Evan, and Jack; and a brother, Martin "Marty" Anthony (Lorraine and daughter Andrea). He was also dearly loved by Carole's family.
