Natale “Nat’ Argento, 89, died peacefully on January 11, 2014 at Martin Nursing and Restorative Care in Stuart, Florida.
Nat, the son of Italian immigrant parents, was born in Brooklyn, New York and had been a resident of both Palm City and Stuart for 25 years.
Nat was a prominent member of the food industry in New York, having learned the supermarket and food industry basics while working in his parents small grocery store in Brooklyn, New York.
Prior to retirement in Florida, he was the Vice President of Sales and Trade Relations for Marcal Paper Mill in New Jersey where he focused on growing their business in food industry markets. Whether addressing a major business conference or as master of ceremonies at home, Nat was eminent as an Entertainer Extraordinaire while remaining a loyal husband and a great father of three children.
Nat was a veteran of the United States Army and served in World War II in the battles of Normandy and Northern France. It was during his time in the service that he first entered the ring to hone his already capable backyard boxing skills, which he eventually passed on to his two sons.
But no sport was more endearing to Nat than baseball. As a perennial Red Sox fan, a first-baseman in the Brooklyn Kiwanis League, a Long Island Little League manager, or avid neighborhood whiffle ball player, baseball always coursed through his veins.
In any and all cases, the multi-talented Nat Argento was universally lauded as an all-around "great guy!"
He is survived by his wife, 2 children, a granddaughter, a sister and brother-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is pending.
Memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, Fl 34997.
