Wade E. Chavers, 58, of KCK, passed away suddenly on January 14th at home. Memorial visitation will be from 10:00-11:30 a.m., Saturday, January 25th at Chapel Hill-Butler, 701 N. 94th St., KCK. Graveside inurnment with Honors will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Wade was born September 26, 1955 in KCK to Arbie and Martha Chavers. A lifelong KC resident, he graduated from Wyandotte HS in 1973 and joined the Navy shortly thereafter. Wade worked for the Jackson County Courthouse, Wilcox Electric and Boatsman Bank as a computer operator and was lately working at Wackenhut Security and Diamond Executive Services as a security guard. He was an avid reader and student of history. Wade enjoyed the arts, especially music, from Cajun to classic rock. Wade loved playing games, particularly dominoes. He possessed a quick wit and could make anyone laugh. Until recently, Wade could most often be seen with a canine companion.
Wade was preceded in death by his mother Martha Chavers, whom he lost in 1980. He is survived by his father, Arbie L. Chavers and his step-mother, Lewise of KCK; his step-sisters, Pearl A. King and her husband Glenn of Parkville, MO and Linda L. Woodson and her husband Tom of Bonner Springs, KS.
