Joel “Mike” Michael Green, Sr., 59, of Dallas, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Kings Mountain Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born in Gastonia and is the son of Joel Reginald Green and the late Barbara Jarrell Green.
Mr. Green was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force during the Viet Nam War. He was a Life Member of United Veterans of America and a member of Rod-Tiques Car Club.
The family wishes to express their special thanks to Darrell and Robert Swanson for the love and care given to “Mike” during his illness.
Mr. Green is survived by his wife of 10 years, Brenda Castleman Green; father, Joel Reginald Green of Dallas; one daughter, Angie Huckabee (Lee) of Dallas; one son, Joel Michael Green, Jr. (Nicole) of Mt. Holly; one step-daughter, Tonya Malone-Washington (Malcolm) of Shelby; two step-sons, Darrell Swanson of Dallas, Robert Swanson (Angela) of Bessemer City; one brother, Randy Green (Brenda) of Dallas; one sister, Michelle Farrow (Darrell) of Dallas; three grandchildren, Joel Paxton Green, Austin Huckabee, Ashlyn Huckabee; three great grandchildren, Deandre, Ayden, Caroline; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church, 301 W. Main St., Dallas with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Caroll Flack officiating and Military Honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard.
Florist may deliver flowers to First United Methodist Church at 1:00 P.M. Sunday.
