Dr. Perry was born April 8, 1923 in Montreal Canada and emigrated to the United States as a child. He grew up in Brooklyn, NY and attended New York University before graduating from the Temple University School of Dentistry in 1947.
Michael married Harriet Estrin in 1947 and enjoyed over 66 years of marriage. He has two daughters, Rachelle Perry, DVM, and Sandi Perry, and one son, Arthur Perry, MD.
While in dental school, Michael served in the United States Army. After graduation, he established a practice in Brooklyn. He then served as a Captain in the dental corp in the Korean War. Following the war, he established his practice in Highland Falls, NY, where he actively practiced dentistry until this week.
In Highland Falls, Dr. Perry was elected as a Town Councilman. He was a volunteer in the Highland Falls Fire Department, a Mason, a member of the Town of Highlands zoning board and the zoning board of appeals. He was a 70+ year member of the American Legion, a member of the Rotary Club, and a member of the American Dental Association, and the 9th district dental society.
Dr. Perry loved his work, providing dentistry for 3 generations of Highland Falls residents.
He is survived by his wife Harriet, his son and daughters, his daughter-in-law Bedonna, grandchildren Benjamin, Meredith, and Julia Perry.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday February 9, 2014 at 10:45 AM at Hellman Memorial Chapels, 15 State Street, Spring Valley, NY 10977. Interment will follow at Cedar Park Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Jewish Home for the Aged at Riverdale. Arrangements under the direction of Hellman Memorial Chapels, Spring Valley, NY.
